This is a handsome English carved oak three panel coffer dating from the late 18th century, circa 1770.The chest has a good colour and nice patination to the solid oak. This is traditionally constructed with peg dowel jointing. The chest is in good sound order, there is an historic split to the left hand fielded panel in the top which is quite stable. The coffer is raised on style feet and the front panels are attractively carved with traditional diamond motifs.
The coffer measures 28"high, 49"wide and 21"deep.
