18th Century Carved Stone Momento Mori
Late 18th century carved stone skull with latin inscription.
An amusing carving the skull with its tongue sticking out and the words DIES ITUE carved into its fore head this is Latin for length of days ,rather fitting text for a skull / death motif II think.
Probably from a georgian folly or tomb ,but most definately comissioned by a gentleman with a sense of humour.
In good condition,weathered in places but still with a good definition
