18th Century Oak Low Side Table With Lock
Unusual late 18th century oak side table with a locking central drawer and two others, circa 1780.
This side table is a very useful size and certainly an interesting little piece of 18th century furniture.
The condition is good and has the working lock and key to the central drawer.
There is a faded mark to the table top, but I have left this as it is under many decades of beeswax and would be a shame to strip away to re finish…in my opinion, the mark does not warrant a strip as in reality it isn’t very noticeable, but under the very bright lights of the studio, it looks more visible!
Measuring:
18 3/4 inches or 47.5 cm high
21 1/2 inches or 54.5 cm wide
14 3/4 inches or 37.5 cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
