18th Century Oil On Canvas Portrait Of A Gentleman wearing a red velvet coat.

The sitter is possibly holding a naval hat under his arm.

Condition report.

Overall good condition. The portrait has some scattered touching up to the face and the side of his nose, cheeks, possibly hair. The restoration would have been many years ago. The portrait has a deep scratch to the coat which can be seen in the images. The canvas has a slight bend at the bottom which I have taken a image of but is very suttle . The very bottom left hand corner probably had a small hole which has been repaired. This can be seen in the images.
The frame is of the period and good condition. Small chips to the gilding on the top of the frame.
The painting has some white marks to the side next to the frame which can be seen in the images.
