Stunning quality veuve pperrin enamel box. The box is marked with the conjoined vp mark in pink, for veuve perrin. The company ran from roughly 1748- 1803, so I believe the box could be from around the 18th century. It is in great condition considering the age, it has a slight rub on the base and near the hinge as shown in the pictures. Apart from that there is no damage or chips I can see, just the expected wear and tear of a box over 200 years old! The box is hinged and the opening is surrounded by a bronzed mount with a lovely flower as the catch. It is enameled a very pale pink with a pattern of pink flowers. Made by veuve perrin, which is based in marseille, france. It measures roughly 2. 5" long from hinge to catch, just under 2" across the base by 1" high. This is a fantastic piece of enamel work, a rare piece as I have never seen a heart shaped box model. Came from a collection in a private house in scotland. It is a lovely original item, in great condition and would look good in anyone's collection or make a great present.
