1920 Full Hunter Pocket Watch, Military Connection
A 1920 full hunter pocket watch with military connections.
The watch has a good quality Swiss stem-winding movement, with four adjustments, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The case is in lovely condition and the case back has an engraving to Major Russell of the 2nd Battalion Worcester Regiment.
The front should be opened by pushing the winding crown but it needs a little encouragement with a fingernail, but opens easily.
The watch glass is in good condition.
The white enamel dial has bold black Roman numerals, blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes with a 12 carat rolled gold double albert - each chain measures 22cm long including the clasp and T-bar.
