1920's Mahogany pedestal dining table
Mahogany pedestal dining table
This Regency style mahogany pedestal dining table was made in the early part of the 20th century by a cabinetmaker using Georgian timber.
At the start of the 20th century there was an abundance of fine Georgian timber that a cabinetmaker could use for table tops and then construct elegant tripod bases to fit. The cabinetmakers would use this resource as the best timber had been cut down in the 18th and 19th centuries and so it was sensible to use that instead of the softer and less vibrant timbers that were being imported at this time.
This example is round at the ends and has 2 extra leaves to allow you to have a variety of sizes to use when dining.
The table can be used with 1, 2, or no leaves set in place. As there are no legs at the corners, it enables you to sit more guests around it and 10-12 should sit round this lovely elegant dining table
The table stands on a pair of tripod base with elegant turned columns, and then with fitted solid brass claw toes with castors under.
