1930s Cortebert pocket watch and chain
1930s Cortebert pocket watch and chain.
Cortebert used to be one of the highest regarded premium watch brands, manufacturing their own movements, supplying movements to other brands such as Rolex and introducing the jump-hour arrangement. When the quartz crisis hit the industry in the 1970s, the majority of prestige brands ceased production including Cortébert.
The watch has a signed stem-winding movement, calibre 534, which is working well.
The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The nickel case has minor surface marks but overall is in good condition for a 1930s piece.
The watch glass has light surface marks but is very acceptable.
The signed dial has its original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes with a single chain, 27cm long including the clasps.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
