1930s Cyma full hunter pocket watch, Tavannes
A 1930s Cyma full hunter pocket watch by the Tavannes Watch Company full hunter pocket watch.
The Tavannes Watch Company collaborated with Schwob Frères and they produced watches under the name Cyma. Eventually the Cyma name became more well known than Tavannes, and in fact is still around today.
The watch has an in-house stem-winding movement, reference 918, which is working nicely and it is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 10ct gold plated and was made by Dennison Watch Case Company. The case has some minor surface marks, and a fairly small small indentation to the front, but overall is very acceptable for a 1930s piece.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside the front cover is a later 1966 engraving from when the watch was given as a gift. Inside there is a watch glass which is in good condition and a signed white enamel dial which is also in good condition. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
