1930s Valjoux 61 chronograph pocket watch
1930s Valjoux 61 chronograph pocket watch.
The watch has a stem-winding movement, signed Valjoux 61, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some scratching.
The Valjoux 61 is a good quality movement which was used in some of the early Heuer chronographs.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is chrome plated. There is some marking where the case has been opened and general light surface marking but overall the condition is good.
The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The dial has two subsidiary dials, one for constant seconds and the other to records up to 30 minutes. The subsidiary dials have darkened with age. Blued steel Breguet style hands. The chronograph is a single button which starts, stops and re-sets to zero. There are a few hairline cracks to the dial but they are faint.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
