A 1944 Universal Geneve full calendar wristwatch. A silvered dial with a matte finish and blued steel hands. Steel baton hour markers and a '12' in a deco style font. As with most of the iconic Universal Geneve wristwatches, this has multiple complications. A moon phase and months of the year to 6 o'clock, with a red pointer. A subsidiary seconds dial to 9 o'clock with Arabic numeral quarters. Date of the month to 3 o'clock as well as day of the week just underneath 12. A stainless steel 'Enversteel' case with well shaped lugs. A manual wind caliber 291 Universal Geneve mechanism with original winding crown. Unlike most of the much larger 'Compax' wristwatches Universal made at this point, this is a more delicate wristwatch. Serial numbers date this watch to c.1944.
