An intriguing image. Very well executed but we know nothing of the sitter or being able to decipher the artists name.

What is for certain the framers were from Liverpool.

Created under the period of rationing, a probable example of using what was available. Was the artist a longtime resident of the UK, a refugee or possibly a POW? Who was the sitter?

Questions that have no answers however the image is strong and evocative of the period.
