We are offering for sale this very pretty 19th Century Alabaster & Ormolu Table Lamp and Shade from the makers of the Downton Abbey TV Series lampshades. This would make a wonderful bedside or dressing table lamp, but could also fit well into other rooms.

The Lamp is in Alabaster in a vase and cover style, with ornate foliate Ormolu handles on either side, raised on an oval Alabaster base, by two foliate scrolls and two cornucopiae. The base has applied Ormolu decoration and the shole stands upon 6 decorated Ormolu feet.

The Shade is in the 'Ballerina' style, with a body of gold silk damask, a crown in aubergine silk, gold fringe overlaid with aubergine and gold beads and a complementary gold and aubergine braid.

The Lamp has been rewired with antique gold twisted silk covered flex and has a new inline on/off switch and plug. As with all electrical items it is recommended that it be checked by a qualified electrician before use.

Condition: Very good. Consistent with its age and use, there are the usual tiny nibbles and scratches on the Alabaster. The Ormolu is in perfect condition and the Shade is new.
