19th C French Bureau De Dame. Ladies Writing Desk
This is a most charming antique French Ladies writing desk or 'Bureau de dame'
Small in size, this piece is craftsman built and dates to the late 19th Century.
It is made of rosewood and walnut, and the veneers have been laid down in the most beautiful geometric marquetry design.
The interior is nicely finished in rosewood also, and has 3 oak lined, inlaid drawers, a shelf and a well with a sliding cover. The writing surface is red baize .
Original cast brass mounts to knees and toes, and a 3 sided gallery to the top.Beautiful rich patina and a deep lustre wax finish.
Showroom condition.
