We are pleased to offer for sale this attractive bust length, three quarters profile oval portrait of a lady, which we would date to the late 19th Century. She has a kind face with a sweet expression and is wearing her dark brown curly hair pulled back to the nape of her neck. She is wearing a burgundy coloured dress with a gauzy drapery within the neckline and has a wrap over her left shoulder. She has a gold chain round her neck which is tucked into the neckline of the dress. There is a pink rose at her neckline.

The watercolour is unsigned, but the detail, particularly of the face, has been very well executed, as shown. It has been newly double mounted in two tone mountboard to complement and is newly framed in an ornate, 2 1/4 inch gilt frame to suit.

The watercolour will be supplied with all new brass fittings and picture wire, and will be ready to hang.
