19th Century Carved Oak Armchair / Library Chair
Very good quality and decorative heavy solid oak armchair dating to the mid 19th century. The moulded padded back has beautiful sinuous carving on the top and bottom back rails. The down swept arms end in scrolls that rest on vasiform supports. The sprung seat is raised on faceted front legs and simple block back legs all terminating in brass castors. The armchair is entirely traditionally re-upholstered from frame by The Sitting Place. The armchair is then finished in lovely detailed Meadow Fruit fabric by GP&J Baker. The red and green hues of this quality linen fabric bring out the rich colour of the oak show wood. This armchair would add charm to both a traditional and country style décor in a living room setting or even a library/study room. Table and accessories are for display purposes only.
Where applicable, our upholstered items of stock are fully newly traditionally re-upholstered in-house using only traditional materials and no foam so as to be in-keeping with the age of the piece as an antique.

Returns policy
There is a right to cancel an order from the moment the order is placed to The Sitting Place up to 14 days from the day the item is delivered/received. In the unlikely event that the customer/buyer is not pleased with a purchase made from The Sitting Place, the item in question may be returned. Notification of a return to The Sitting Place is to be made by the customer by email or by phone on +44(0)7341770324.
The item needs to be returned within a further 14 days to The Sitting Place and in the condition the item was received and suitable for re-sale. The customer is to take reasonable care and ensure that the item is well protected when returning the item. The customer is informed that a deduction of the refund will be made to cover for delivery cost to complete the return of the item(s) (unless otherwise agreed). A further reduction of the refund can be made by The Sitting Place if the value of the item has been reduced as a result of the customer handling the item more than was necessary or as a result of the item being soiled and/or damaged.
The return of the item will be arranged by The Sitting Place. Refunds will be made to the customer/buyer, within 14 days of The Sitting Place receiving the returned item(s). Returns cannot be made for items purchased from outside the United Kingdom.
