A very large, 19th Century Ceylonese satinwood and ebony chest. A monumental chest of solid satinwood. The lid, which has three large hinges, has an ebony edge, opening to reveal the large storage space. Inside is a small compartment with lid to the right side. The front has two pierced, heart shaped brass escutcheons. The chest is finished with ebony mouldings on each corner and has an ebony skirt. Supported by squashed bun feet.
