A fabulous, 19th Century English Regency rosewood console table with wonderful figured rosewood rectangular top, using the finest cuts of rosewood. Having a pierced brass gallery, above a frieze with a gilt wood moulding. Raised on exceptionally, well carved monopodium lion supports of gilt wood, having intricate and expressive carvings of handsome lion's faces with flowing manes, on large lion's paw feet. The mirror plate back has a rosewood frame with gilt bronze paterae. Standing on a well figured plinth of rosewood, having pretty brass mouldings to the edges. Having original gilt wood throughout.

A very striking and impressive console table! One of the best models of this style available.
