19th Century Lacquered Papier Mache Snuff Box 19th Century Papier Mache Lacquered %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This is a smart late 19th Century Lacquered Papier Mache Snuff Box. The snuff box has a white metal (possibly pewter) inlaid design in the centre of the lid which is complimented by a looped inlaid white metal edging. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.

As is usually the case with these snuff boxes, there are no identifying marks to show where it was made or by whom. Stylistically it is most likely to be British from the mid to late 19th century.

Condition is very good with just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The snuff box measures is 8cm / 3.1ins by 4.3cm / 1.7ins wide and is 1.8cm / 0.71ins deep. It weighs 33.6g / 1.2oz.

Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
