19th Century Religious French Boulle Bracket Clock
The antique clock is absolutely beautiful with very fine detailed brass and pewter inlay on tortoiseshell surrounded in ebony stained wood.
The Gilt dial and gilded ormolu are mounted on a rich Red color velvet fabric background with highly detailed gilded hands to tell the time. On the top of the clock there are Eight bronze finials and a bell behind the top header that has a beautiful resonate sound for the chime.
The case has wonderful detailed workmanship, as this clock is un restored, there are some minor losses to the red shell, lower front.
The front door has the original lock with a key.
The clock movement is signed Japy Freres. It runs 8 days and chimes on the bell that's on top of the case on the hour and once on the half hour, keeping very good time.
The dimensions of this clock are 65 cm high x 4 1cm wide x 19 cm deep.
