19th Century Unusual French Sevres Lidded Box
We are selling this quality 19th Century French Sevres lidded box in the unusual shape of an egg and signed Lefranc to the bottom right hand side of the picture. The central top picture depicting a courting couple, she wears a blue dress with lemon underskirt and holdsa a basket of pretty pink flowers, he wears purple pantaloons and jacket with red cape and gently places a flower in her hair. The border is decorated with raised gold and also around the base of the box. Inside each section of the lid is decorated with country flowers. Underneath the red mark of Sevres together with the word FRANCE.
Measuring 8 inches in length, height of 5 1/2 inches and depth of 5 1/2 inches.
In overall good condition with rubing to gilt metal ormolu hinges and rubbing to gilding.
