This is a superb antique Zanzibar Chest on its original stand with fine quality brass mounts dating from around 1840. The chest has a great colour and the brassware is complete and original. The base has two short drawers with brass handles and the box has its original iron lock and its fine key with pierced brass detail. The chest is raised on stout, squat cabriole legs with carved claw foot detail. This is quite an imposing chest which adds great character and charm to any situation.

The piece measures 112 cms wide 80 cms high by 50 cms deep.
