19thc Cantagalli Majolica centre piece in the form of a tortoise holding three shells on its back with mythical dolphins balancing a shell on their tails. Decorated with hand painted images of mythical creatures and beings. Marked with a cockerel to the base.

Old repairs, One of the shell dishes has been riveted, there is a crack through one of the smaller shells. Some minor chips scuffs, losses consistent with age and use.

Approx. 14.5" high x 16" wide.
