19thC Japanese Camphorwood Planter

A beautiful late 19thC Japanese planter from a solid trunk of camphor, it has a molded base and a copper & tin liner with shaped cast iron rim. It retains much of the original black finish and has been waxed to preserve this and enhance the sheen. The tin base has slight pitting damage on one edge. The back of the trunk has some old shrinkage gaps but these are stable. It measures approx. 2ft across by 1ft high.
