Classic late 19th.c. military officer’s campaign chest c.1880. In solid camphor wood, a fragrant and pest resistant timber which helped protect contents during passage, further strengthened with brass corners and bindings. Particuarly good example of the form with very well figured timber and two locks rather than the more usual single one. Original flush fitting handles to the lid, lockplates and heavy duty carry handles to each side. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
