19thC Staffordshire Figure The Welch Tailor's Wife


Early Staffordshire figure of the Welsh (Welch) Tailor's Wife dating from c.1830. It depicts the lady riding a goat, carrying 2 young children in a basket on her back and another in her arms. This depiction has a comical goat kid trying to suckle while they are travelling.
It measures 5 1/4" high and 4" long. Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. There is glaze crazing but surface wear is light, just the odd paint flake. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
