2 x Early 20th C. Silver Plate Salts, Wm. Hutton

This is a smart pair of early 20th century Silver Plated Open Salts. The salts are navette shaped with pedestal bases and high swooping handles making for very elegant pieces.
The salts are made by William Hutton & Sons of Sheffield and Birmingham and date to the period of c.1900 - 1930. Originally founded in Birmingham in 1800, the firm then moved to Sheffield in 1832 before later reopening a second premises in Birmingham. They remained in business up until 1930 when they were taken over by James Dixon & Sons.
Condition is generally good with just a small amount of plate loss inside the bowls where it has been attacked by salt over the course of time. They remain perfectly usable. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each salt is 11.8cm / 4.6ins from handle to handle, 5.6cm / 2.2ins across and stands 7cm / 2.7ins high. The pair together weigh in at 126.2g / 4.4oz.
The salts are each marked on the side the WH & S stamp for William Hutton & Sons.
