This is an attractive and good quality antique Sheraton style leather serpentine mahogany and leather ladies writing table, circa 1950.

This is an attractive and good quality antique Sheraton style leather serpentine mahogany and leather ladies writing table, circa 1950. Although it is not stamped, this writing table was most likely made by “Jaycee” cabinetmakers due to its good build construction, quality and weight. The writing table boasts a curved gallery above a bank of six central drawers and enclosed with a satinwood-inlaid cupboard either side. A serpentine green and gold and leather tooled insert sits above two serpentine satinwood cock-beaded and satinwood-inlaid drawers. The serpentine drawers features Regency brass loop handles. Above the front legs sit elegant floral disks. Below, the table sits on elegant Sheraton style reeded and tapering spade feet.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the office, study or bedroom. This item would certainly grace any home or office and a great investment, as they are an extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
The item features a rich dark red mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition The table is in excellent condition and commensurate with the age of the item. The leather is also in excellent condition and is free from any wear, damage, stains or other marks. All drawers are free running and close flush to the frame. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the writing table but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
