This is a very good quality set of eight carved oak dining chairs in the style of the Chippendale period, having freshly upholstered seats, circa 1900.

Description
This is a very good quality set of eight carved oak dining chairs in the style of the Chippendale period, having freshly upholstered seats, circa 1900. The set consists of eight side chairs. All chairs features shaped head rails, including scroll carvings and shaped ears below is a with finely executed shaped floral carved open back splat. Flanking this is further floral vertical rails to outside frame of the chairs. The chairs features drop in seats, which have been newly upholstered in top quality hard wearing taupe shade wool blend upholstery. The chair seat frames are serpentine shaped finished with a moulded reed edge. The chairs sit on sturdy straight legs to the front and sabre legs to the back. The backs of the chairs are chamfered this is a sign of top quality.
This is a true set of chairs (they have not been matched together) and they are extremely comfortable. The chairs are heavy in weight this is a further sign of quality.
The frames of the chairs feature a rich mid brown oak colour. As they boast the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room, dining rom, study, and library or office boardroom. Condition Report
This set of chairs is in excellent original condition. This is a true set of chairs (i.e. they have not been matched together). The seats have been newly upholstered in top quality taupe shade wool blend upholstery. Importantly, there are no breaks to the back or legs of any of the chairs. The seats are firm but extremely comfortable. The chairs are heavy in weight, which is a good sign of quality. As this set of chairs retains its original polish, it ensures there is an excellent colour and patination to the timber. This colour can only be found in antique furniture with its original polish it cannot be recreated with new polish. These chairs are solid in joint (not lose or wobbly) and are ready to use.
