A Rare Opportunity for the Garden Lover or Oriental Garden Designer?!
Offered here is a fine and very useful run of 6 vintage Chinese earthenware garden stools or jardiniere / pot stands.
These lovely objects, dating to around the mid 20th century, are ready and waiting to make a fine addition to a garden, conservatory or terrace. Hand made from earthenware and polychrome glazed, the main colour is a rich and deep emerald green, with other colours picking out the pierced detailing to the sides.
The based are of hexagonal form, with the circular tops simulating a taught 'drum', with moulded studs around the circumference. The surface of each is slightly concave, meaning water naturally exits through the pierced 'cash' design to the centre.
These objects make for wonderful stools or seats and would look great clustered around a central focal point. Alternatively they could be used as low jardiniere or pot stands.
Naturally weathered with some surface wear and imperfections and a whole lot nicer than anything brand new from the garden centre. Would look absolutely splendid dotted throughout a Japanese or Chinese inspired garden....next to water or perhaps beneath an Acer.

Condition -
All four are in used / vintage / weathered condition. Some surface marking and scratching, but nothing too significant. Various small surface chips and loss to the glaze around the bases but again, nothing which significantly detracts and in line with age and careful use. No restoration. All are useable, are structurally sound and display very well. One with a small hole to the side where some of the pierced design has come away, but again, not too significant a loss (prospective buyers will be emailed an image of this hole prior to purchase).
