A 17th Century & Later Carved Oak Wainscot Chair

Measuring approximately 47 1/2" x 24 1/2" x 20" (height, width, depth) with a seat height of 18"

A large provincial chair raised on well turned bold baluster legs united by periphoral stretchers.

The figured plank seat supported by molded rails and a shaped apron.

A most impressive scrolled and foliate carved crest and applied carved ears. The back panel and upright rails decorated with superbly carved guilloche pattern.

A large and comfortable chair with good colour.

Front legs have been re-tipped and back legs have been spliced.
