A 1930s Thomas Russell full hunter pocket watch.
A 1930s Thomas Russell full hunter pocket watch.
Thomas Russell & Son was a well respected business having achieved a Royal Warrant as watch and antique clock makers to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working well. The Swiss movement is signed Thomas Russell & Son , Liverpool. Swiss made, 10 jewels. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 54.3mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Russell model made by the Illinois Watch Case Company. The case has light surface marking from use and some wear to the edges but overall it is in nice condition for a 1930s piece.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is a glass lens which is in nice condition.
The double sunk dial is signed Thomas Russell & Son Liverpool. The dial has a very faint hairline crack to the sub seconds dial although hardly noticeable but otherwise it is in nice condition .
The watch has its original blued steel hands.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
