A C.Late 17th Oak Two Part Chest of Drawers
An English C.Late 17th Antique Oak Two Part Chest of Drawers
Measuring approximately 37" x 36" x 22" (width, height, depth)
A rare C.1690 William & Mary period chest raised on bold bun feet to front and consisting of four long drawers, the deeper two with geometrically molded panels and having good consistent colour and patination throughout. The drawer base boards run front to back.
Good, original boarded top.
The brass handles and escutcheons are old and in keeping but not original.
One of the back panels has been replaced and the chest has a few old long since dead worm-holes, minor losses, bumps and bruises commensurate with over 300 years of use.
The chest as made in two parts and is therefore easier to transport.
