This beautifully made and very attractive pair of chairs stand on carved lions paw feet, the legs then extend upward and support the arms with carved swans, the top rail is also carved. They are in Cuban mahogany and are of a good colour and patina, the chairs have been recently recovered in pale linen. 990mm high, 610mm wide, 610mm deep and 435mm seat height. Circa 1880. W J Gravener Antiques is a family owned business, started in 1963 by William who was joined by son, Mark in 1981 and continues today with the same ethos of dealing in fine quality English and Continental furniture, mirrors and decorative objects, from the 18th & 19th centuries.
