A lovely quality Victorian period walnut antique jewellery box, the exterior has all its original colour and polished surface. The top, which has a working key, opens to reveal a well fitted interior with nine glass bottles, eight of these have silver plated lids. The fitted front tray lifts out to reveal a storage space below. The lid contains a fitted mirror which can be released to reveal a secret letter folder and then reversed to reveal a blue quilted covering, The box contains a drawer in the base which is released from inside the box. Sizes: 12”(30cms) wide, 9”(23cms) deep, 7”(17cms) high. Date circa 1860. I have reluctantly decided that after 60 years spent in this marvellous business it is, figuratively speaking, time to hang up my cheque book.
