A Gents 1930s Silver Cushion Cased Wristwatch
A gents 1930s silver cushion cased wrist watch.
The watch has a hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch itself measures 32mm wide excluding the winding crown and 32mm high excluding the fixed wire lugs so it is a decent size for a 1930s piece. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Glasgow (import mark), 1931 with a sponsor’s mark for George Stockwell. From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items, which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail. This particular case is in good condition with just a few marks to the case back.
The lens is in good order.
The white enamel dial is in lovely condition with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
