A J DRINKWATER SHIPS IN RIVER MERSEY

J. A. Drinkwater oil on board of liner and tugs in the River Mersey, probably dating to the late 1970s or early 1980s. Signed. Although Signature is hardly visible.
Drinkwater was a 20th century artist and a popular Liverpool based marine painter in both watercolour and oil. He exhibited largely locally and took commission work, especially of ships sailing through Liverpool.

Wonderful colours and beautifully painted rendition of Liverpool river scene in front of the iconic Three Graces skyline. ( Three Graces consist of the Royal Liver Building, The Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building.)
