An English Peg and joint chair raised on re-blocked feet and typical turned baluster legs united by peripheral stretchers
The back panel with lozenge carving and trefoil lobes with crosshatching synonymous with the Halifax region.
Slightly later historical ownership initial 'P.M.' and date '1725'
Characteristic down-swept and shaped arms
The crest rail decorated with beast carving.
Good dark patina throughout.
Some splits to side rails and evidence of old worm
