A Mahogany Barometer by P. Monti of Sandwich
An early Victorian mercury wheel barometer. A mahogany case with a swan neck pediment and original brass finial. Banded case edging. Well silvered dials an a convex mirror. The level is engraved 'P MONTI SANDWICH'. Circa 1840.
The Monti family of instrument makers are recorded in Banfields 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working from 1810.
