A Mordan and Co retractable pencil gold 10cts

A late 19th century 10ct gold Mordan and Co. sliding fob pencil.
This very fine example of a gold sliding pencil was produced by the top English pen and pencil manufacturer Mordan and Co and bears their name on its stem with the factory arrow mark which indicates it is made from gold at least 10cts in quality.
The pencil is hidden within the hollow stem and can be withdrawn for use by pushing the raised ring forward. The pencil appears to be original. On the opposite end, there is a ring for mounting onto a watch or neck chain.
This lovely example is very pleasing and tactile to hold and use. It is in excellent original condition with very little signs of use.
Sizes open: Height 1cm x width 11cm x depth 1cm
Sizes closed: Height 1cm x width 7cm x depth 1cm
English, circa 1890
