A very rare life size plaster death mask of an infant under a glass dome and mounted on a solid oak plinth.

Dating to the middle of the Victorian period this is a touching memorial of a young child. It is a pity we do not know the family details but we can surmise this infant was loved and cared for to have such a momento-mori made.

Finished with a green patination this is a truly remarkable piece. With the passing of approx 150 years there has been some chipping to the plaster but we feel this only adds to the overall character.
