A Substantial Arts & Crafts Oak Side Cabinet
An Arts & Crafts oak side cabinet, of substantial proportions, dating c.1930. Designed by the Artist J. T. McGaw and craftsman made in St Leonards Forest (Horsham). The cabinet is constructed in English, well figured quarter sawn oak with doweled joints and fine dovetails to the drawers. The numerous drawers and cabinet doors have contrasting ebonised handles which emphasises the wood grain. The main body of the cabinet has two parallel banks of 4 drawers each, under a two door cabinet revealing an arrangement of internal shelves and drawers.
Note: J. T. McGaw was an artist and founder of the association of Sussex Artists in 1928.
Offered in very good, cleaned and waxed condition.
