A WW2 Omega 30T2 SC military wrist watch
A WW2 Omega 30T2 SC military wrist watch.
The watch has a hand-winding movement, Omega calibre 30T2 SC. The movement is signed, just as it should be, and the serial number 9,915,438 dates it back to 1943.
The watch is a good size at 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is known as an economy case, a combination often manufactured during and after the War. The bezel is plated, with an alloy centre section and a stainless steel case back (the back has some surface scratches from use but not too detrimental). The case back on this particular watch is a later replacement, originally it would have had a 6B marking for the Air Ministry, together with the military arrow. However, after WW2, many military watches were converted into watches for civilian use and this could have been when the back was replaced.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial has some marking towards the edge, between 4 and 5. The blued steel hands are probably the originals, the design is certainly correct. The red centre seconds hand is a replacement, again possibly part of the de-commissioning process.
A new black leather strap has been fitted. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
