Alan Caiger-Smith Studio Pottery Plaque Charger

A Fine Alan Caiger-Smith Studio Pottery Wall Plaque or Charger.
Alan Caiger-Smith (1930 - 2020), the highly regarded 20th century master of the art of tin glazed earthenware production. His various vessels, pots and plates were very often decorated with his deft and somewhat 'calligraphic' brush work of various coloured glazes....recalling the earlier designs and wares of the middle-east which provided a life-long source of inspiration.
This is a super example, with its abstracted design in vivid blue and red, contrasting against a pale ground and makes for a very accomplished and satisfying display piece for the table or wall.
It's a good size, measuring some 13 inches in diameter, is presented in perfect condition and has his painted monogram verso, as shown.
All in all a highly recommended pot from this true great of 20th century British studio ceramics. Email or call for any further information on this item. We give great attention to each and every item we select and offer for sale, priding ourselves on the accuracy of our descriptions and research. We are very happy to provide complete and exacting condition reports (together with further photographs, where necessary) and encourage buyers to request this information prior to purchase.
Accepted payment methods are via paypal, bank transfer, personal cheque or cash.
Viewing of any item in person, prior to purchase, is always welcomed by appointment.
