A.M. Foweraker Fine Quality Watercolour - Spain
Albert Moulton Foweraker (British, 1873 - 1942)
A fine quality and very attractive, early 20th century watercolour by this highly regarded and sought after British painter.
Foweraker - a painter of the post-Impressionist and early modern eras - was captivated by light and the changing colours of the day - particularly late afternoon and into dusk.
This charming little painting...possibly of a back street in Cordoba....is a good example from his series of works completed whilst he travelled in Spain, in the early 20th century. There is a good sense of activity and the falling light, towards the end of the day.
It is presented behind glass and set within a heavy gilt frame as shown, which sets the work off to good effect.

Image size 34.5 x 44 cms
Overall, including the frame 57 x 66.5 cms
Condition -
The painting is in good order, with overall good colour, displaying nicely. The front of the frame generally displays very well, as clearly shown, however there is some wear and rudimentary repairs at the sides and corners. More pictures happily supplied on request.
