A superb, gentleman's, World War II era, American Waltham Military Pocket Watch.
The dial is in very good condition, it has the hours in Arabic numerals. There is a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed by the maker "Waltham" (see photo).
The base metal watch case was made by the Star Watch Case Company, it is in excellent condition, but with wear to the plating as is normal with this type of watch. The case with the British M.O.D. broad arrow symbol and the issue number 9024.
Both front and rear covers screw off smoothly as they should.
The rear case cover screws off to reveal the 9 jewel Waltham movement, adjusted for temp and in 3 positions. It is signed by the maker "Waltham". The serial number 31,646937 dating the watch to c1942. The watch is stem wound and set.
A lovely watch in good condition, it would make a great addition to any collection.
