An antique Swiss silver pocket watch with chain
An antique Swiss silver pocket watch with chain.
The watch has a jewelled stem-winding movement with lever escapement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 41mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop so smaller than the standard 50mm size. The case is silver and there are small Swiss hallmarks inside the case backs. The back of the watch is beautifully detailed and has a vacant cartouche.
The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The white enamel dial has generously sized black Arabic numbers with an inner 24 hour dial in red. .. with this extra detail and subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute track, the dial has a charming appearance. There are some faint hairline cracks radiating from the centre, and a little nibbling but you have to look closely to see it.
The watch comes with a plated chain which is in perfect proportion for the watch, and it measures 25cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
