Description
A highly attractive English (probably Abigail Griffith (Lambeth High Street)) delft plate of chinoiserie landscape design, reminiscent of the famous Rock Strata Island pattern, with building, trees and flying birds contained within geometric borders. Cell border rim decoration.
We are selling another very similar dish-see or other listings.
The reverse of the item bears stickers for the famous Warner and Gautier collections. See attached article as to the Warner collection. Louis Gautier was a famous early 20thc collector and academic. Many other collectors (in this case Professor Sir Frederick Warner) bought when his collection was dispersed.
Condition
In excellent antique condition, largely free even of the usual rim chips and frits.
