Anglo-Indian watercolour of two boys, Vizagapatam

Anglo-Indian watercolour of two boys on a raft in a river in a fine Edwardian gilt frame, signed L J Scott, titled 'Backwater - Vizagapatum', c.1905
Signed bottom right 'L J Scott'
Title in pencil on reverse of the watercolour states 'Backwater - Vizagapatam' below which is written 'R 35'. This is now hidden by the back board.
Original fine quality gilt frame with attractive corner swags. Overall in very good condition with just a little bit of damage to the plaster decoration but none that detracts.
Mount boards have been replaced with archival-quality boards of similar colour to the originals.
Size: 23 1/4" wide x 19 1/4" high (59 cm x 49 cm)
Image visible inside the mount: 15" x 10 1/2"
Condition: A little foxing to the paper. Gilt frame is generally in very good condition but with some cracks to the swags on the corners and minor losses to the edge beading and decoration which have been coloured-in.
Delivery: We do have a big enough box which would allow us to package the picture very well and safely this option is £15 within the UK. However, due to the delicate nature of the frame and the glazing our preferred option would be to have this picture delivered by our trusted courier for a fee of £45 to anywhere on Mainland England and most of Wales. For this more expensive option any other items which you may wish to purchase from us at the same time would only incur a small incremental charge, if any, for their delivery. A final option would be to collect the painting from the Tunbridge Wells area which would be free of charge.
