This is an amazing 18th century Indian dowry chest dating from around 1790. The solid hardwood chest has the most attractive brass and iron strapwork throughout and is handpainted and decorated to the front in multi framed panels with fabulous earthy colours. This has metal carrying handles to either side but is also raised on wooden wheels so making it easy to move around. This beautifully decorative chest is in good sound order and is a really characterful period piece.
It measures 95 cms long 51 cms deep by 67 cms high.
